Hugh Sykes - Mooresville

Hugh Sykes is a longtime, dedicated Mooresville Downtown Commission Board Member, volunteer, and contributor to Downtown Mooresville. Through the years, Hugh has owned and operated several businesses within the Mooresville municipal service district and he currently serves as the local Main Street Board Treasurer. His diverse professional experience and amiable approach bring a valuable perspective to the Board of Directors. While owning a business in Downtown, Hugh also single-handedly and voluntarily managed the Downtown Mooresville Cruise-In for many years. The highly organized and well-respected event regularly attracted as many as 600 classic cars and spectators from across the region, delivering expanded exposure for Downtown Mooresville.

 Originally from Mooresville, Hugh is well-known throughout the community, and has helped strengthen local relationships for the Main Street program. He has an easygoing, good-humored, caring demeanor and is always ready to lend a hand, an ear, or his support for any type of local Main Street initiative.

Hugh Sykes is truly a cherished advocate for Downtown Mooresville, which is proud to recognize him as a North Carolina Main Street Champion.
