2021 NC Main Street Champion

Downtown Asheboro proudly names Joel McClosky as its first NC Main Street Champion. Joel’s investment in establishing Randolph County’s first brewery along with his business partner, Andrew Deming, created a gathering place for thousands of visitors and locals in downtown. In addition to owning a business, Joel was instrumental in producing and growing downtown events such as the St. Patrick’s Day Celebration and Ashetoberfest, paving the way for additional activities in Asheboro’s Bicentennial Park. He also played a significant role in creating the Downtown Business Association, which eventually became Downtown Asheboro. Joel leads by example and continues to devote his time and resources to Downtown Asheboro, fellow merchants, and other nonprofits.
