They say if you want something done, ask a busy person. In Forest City, that person is Melissa Cantrell. Most know her from the local bank, but others know her as the volunteer who is always willing to help! During the two- day Hot Nights Cool Rides Car Show event, she works registration, tallies judges’ score sheets, and hands out trophies. And that is after she’s worked for months securing judges and preparing registration packets!
In December, Melissa lines up floats for the Christmas parade, sells carriage ride tickets on Saturday nights, and on Sunday, she’s at the Santa House, assisting the Community Pet Center with Santa Paws. She is almost as busy as Saint Nick!
More recently, Melissa has become the chief popcorn popper at Explore Forest City’s concession stand at the Pavilion on Park Square! Main Street Forest City is honored to have Melissa Cantrell as a volunteer and is proud to call her a North Carolina Main Street Champion!
