Pat Nanney: Forest City

2021 NC Main Street Champion

Sometimes when people retire, they sit back and decide to rest. Not Pat Nanney! In fact, Pat is probably busier now than ever! He bears the title of “#1 Volunteer and Official Photographer” for the Town of Forest City. Whether he is putting out event signs, judging holiday windows, welcoming people to events, photographing Town events, or promoting Forest City on his weekly radio show, Pat Nanney, with his amazing smile and laugh, fits the definition of a Main Street Champion. After serving on the Pavilion at Park Square (or POPS) committee, Pat became a volunteer for POPS events. From festivals and concerts to family movie nights, Pat is on location, switching back and forth between setting up, welcoming people at the gate, taking pictures, and tearing down. His service is a great example of how one person can make a tremendous impact.
