The NC Main Street & Rural Planning Center's Downtown Associate Community program is the first step towards the NC Main Street Designation. State staff works with eligible communities to equip them with the tools to build a sustainable organizational foundation and conduct strategic economic development planning, strengthening their downtown development efforts.
