The Greene Family Development Company partnered with Downtown Salisbury, Inc. to support downtown revitalization and economic development. Both organizations had mission statements that closely aligned with the focus on undertaking transformational projects that improve their hometown. With their missions at the center, the Greenes and Downtown Salisbury Inc. developed a project that meets both the vision for downtown and furthers economic development in the community.

The project was the redevelopment of the Bell Block building, a landmark from 1898, which was central to South Main Street's growth during the Salisbury Renaissance, playing a pivotal role in the expansion of the South Main Street corridor.

Rehabilitation began in 2021 and concluded with full leasing by late 2023. Managed by Pete Bogle, Alfred C. Wilson, and Green Rock, LLC, the project preserved the building's historical elements. The project was partially funded by a $232,718 grant from the National Park Service.

The Economic and Community Impact of this project included adding 7 households and 12 new residents, contributing $132,000 in local spending annually. It boosted sales tax, motor vehicle tax, and general fund revenues and increased the building's appraised tax value from $276,629 to over $823,000.

The Bell Block building also facilitated the opening of Glass Ingenuity, a veteran-owned glass art shop, and retained another business.

This project was a successful tax credit project approved by the National Park Service and the State Historic Preservation Office. In addition, all work met the guidelines of the City of Salisbury Historic Preservation Office, thus preserving the building for the next 100 years.
