For Casey and Emily Lewis, doing means a lot more than saying. They are “doers” in every sense of the word and have brought a new energy to Downtown Burlington. From opening a unique gallery and gift shop in downtown to creating and donating an interactive sculpture for a central courtyard, the Lewises have made a huge impact in only a few short years.
Casey joined the Burlington Downtown Corporation board and was integral in business owner outreach for a new trash and recycling plan. She also helped plan and execute a 2019 downtown mural project which brought a nationally recognized artist to Burlington. Most recently, the Lewises purchased three buildings in the downtown district and are working to curate destination businesses that will serve to reinvigorate a quiet area of downtown.
This couple embodies and supports the best parts of Downtown Burlington – community, collaboration, and local investment. Burlington proudly recognizes Casey and Emily Lewis as North Carolina Main Street Champions.
