2024 NC Main Street Champion
The City of Cherryville thrives year-round thanks to the unwavering dedication of its Public Works & Electrical Department. These skilled professionals maintain the city’s pristine downtown streetscape, vibrant flower displays, and four downtown recreational areas, earning constant praise from city leaders, merchants, and visitors for their outstanding work.
Their efforts truly shine during holidays and special events, solidifying downtown Cherryville as a must-see regional destination. Twice a year, before Memorial Day and Veterans Day, the team proudly hangs more than 100 veterans’ flags along Main Street—a heartfelt tribute to service members. They are also the driving force behind the city’s festive transformations, tirelessly decorating, managing logistics, and cleaning up after holiday events that draw tens of thousands of visitors to Main Street.
With their tireless can-do attitude, commitment to excellence, and passion for making Cherryville a welcoming and beautiful community, Cherryville proudly recognizes the City of Cherryville Public Works & Electrical Department as its 2024 North Carolina Main Street Champion.
