Jonathan and Maggie Pierce are true Main Street visionaries when it comes to downtown Fuquay-Varina. They opened Mason Jar Tavern in the Fuquay district in 2016, followed in 2017 by the Mason Jar Lager Company in the Varina district. Over the last two years, Jonathan and Maggie have worked to unify the two downtown districts through cross-promoting and collaborating with other businesses. Jonathan has been a guiding force in developing and hosting Downtown Discussions, a quarterly event seeking to inform and create relationships among fellow downtown business owners. Jonathan and Maggie are always the first to donate space, materials, or manpower to help the community and fellow business owners. They are true North Carolina Main Street Champions who have made a strong and positive impact on downtown Fuquay-Varina in a small amount of time.
