2024 NC Main Street Champion
Every Main Street needs someone who embodies love for their community through service. For Goldsboro, that person is January Hammond. Known for her dependability and hard work, January steps in wherever there’s a need—without hesitation.
January began volunteering for the Downtown Goldsboro Development Corporation in 2021 and quickly became an indispensable part of its leadership. By 2022, she had joined the board and taken on the role of promotion committee chair, earning a spot on the executive committee. Her rapid ascent was driven by her tireless dedication, remarkable energy, and creativity. January’s consistent efforts and positive attitude not only make her a gifted leader but also inspire others to elevate their own contributions to the board.
Balancing two successful careers—Operations Manager for a downtown pediatric dentistry practice and proprietor of Myss January Events, a thriving event planning and logistics service—January still finds time to lead vital downtown initiatives. She has devoted more than 200 hours to the steering committee for the 2024 Main Street Conference and continues to guide key promotion committee programs. The list of her contributions is as extensive as her enthusiasm for downtown Goldsboro.
