Historic Downtown Eden has experienced significant growth in the last two years thanks to community and business efforts. While it may be easy to open a retail business in an active area, it takes a special person to be one of the first to do so in a low foot traffic part of downtown. Julie Stanton, however, is not afraid of a challenge and did just that. With her father, Phil, Julie opened Southern Julep, a trendy, upscale boutique that carries apparel, southern tees, gift items, home décor, jewelry and more.
Southern Julep has been a wonderful addition to Downtown Eden. Julie’s comprehensive understanding of social media has driven customers to her store and increased downtown foot traffic. She features the downtown as a backdrop for her models and she and her father work hard to promote downtown Eden through their business and community efforts. The two owners have a great working relationship – in fact, the name of their business is a combination of their names, “Julie and Phil.”
Historic Downtown Eden is proud to honor Julie Stanton as a North Carolina Main Street Champion.
