What Downtown Waynesville may lack in event planning manpower, it more than makes up for with Kirk Messer. As the Town of Waynesville sanitation crew leader, Kirk is also the Downtown Waynesville Commission’s special event superhero.
Kirk oversees everything from street closures to cleanup and never says “no” to anything in between. He is the go-to person for tasks like setting up stages, taking down Christmas trees, chalking booth spaces on asphalt, emptying trash cans, and much more. Whether it's moving chairs and bleachers or hanging fall cornstalks, Kirk is always ready to pitch in.
No matter the hour or the weather, Kirk rises to every occasion, ensuring that events run smoothly and provide a great experience for attendees. His dedication and hands-on support make him a true Main Street Champion.
