2024 NC Main Street Champion
Liam Gilroy is a managing partner at Fortis Wealth Management, LLC, a local business in Downtown Tarboro. Before establishing Fortis Wealth Management, Liam served as an Officer in the Army with the Joint Special Operations Command, where he tackled complex military operations.
After completing his active-duty career, Liam shifted his focus to providing financial planning services, helping clients achieve their retirement goals and secure their financial futures. Upon opening his business in Downtown Tarboro, he saw the need for leadership and advocacy to support and improve the local economy. He is also committed to raising his children in a thriving community.
Liam spearheaded the initiative that led to the adoption of the Downtown Tarboro Social District. Additionally, he established Taps on Main, a beer and wine bar, which sparked renewed interest and investment in the downtown area. Liam also purchased the buildings at 105 to 111 East Pitt Street and partnered with UNC Greensboro's Main Street Fellows to create facade design renderings. He has invested in rehabilitating the interior of these buildings, further revitalizing the downtown area. His energy and vision have reignited local leaders' enthusiasm and fostered community-wide engagement.
