Keith Suttles, a retired firefighter with the North Carolina Division of Forest Resources, has been a longtime supporter of downtown Morganton. Before retirement, Keith visited the Main Street Office often, talking about his desire to own a downtown bar one day. Upon retirement, he coerced his sons into doing just that. In the fall of 2014, Brown Mountain Bottleworks opened with a bang and continues to be an overwhelming success that has inspired other business start-ups. Whether working behind the bar at Brown Mountain Bottleworks or out on the town, Keith embodies determination and spirit. He is known to visit, listen to, and assist fellow merchants, all with his great smile and sense of humor! He is an idea person through and through, with the ability to execute. His passion for downtown inspires the people around him, and Morganton could not be prouder of its North Carolina Main Street Champion, Keith Suttles.
