2024 NC Main Street Champion

A lifelong resident and retired Zebulon Elementary School teacher, Patricia Roberson embodies her teachings through dedicated action.

For years, Patricia has committed herself to rejuvenating and beautifying Downtown Zebulon through a variety of activities and organizations. She played a pivotal role in launching Zebulon’s Downtown Associate Community Program and coordinated one of the largest North Carolina Main Street program’s municipal visioning sessions. Patricia contributes as a member of the Façade Committee, enhancing downtown storefronts, and collaborates with the Woman’s Club to promote a lively downtown by distributing flyers for upcoming events.

Patricia also initiated and now manages the Downtown Pots of Love program. She can often be found decorating the streets for fall and ensuring that downtown storefronts are adorned with wreaths for the holidays. In addition, she serves as a Chamber Ambassador at ribbon-cuttings, volunteers at the annual Christmas Parade, and assists at Chamber Business-After-Hours events.

As a board member of Preservation Zebulon, Patricia helped secure the placement of Downtown Zebulon on the National Register of Historic Places in August 2022. Additionally, as a member of Friends of Wakelon School - built in 1908 - she works tirelessly to support the museum housed in the rehabilitated school, which now serves as Town Hall.

Zebulon is honored to recognize Patricia Roberson as its 2024 North Carolina Main Street Champion.
