2024 NC Main Street Champion

Ron Mack was raised in the heart of Mooresville, where his family has owned businesses and properties for generations, always nurturing and valuing the downtown area. In 1941, Ron’s family acquired a building, now known as Mack on Main, and in 2022, Ron embarked on a major renovation that he calls "unfinished business."
After spending decades in Greensboro focusing on his career and family, Ron knew the time had come to restore this beloved family treasure. For over a decade, he and his father, Mitchell, had discussed the renovation, and finally, the timing aligned, allowing Ron to honor his father's vision.
Ron describes the project as a “renovation that evolved into a restoration,” a “labor of love.” Spanning about 16,000 square feet, the renovation was a true passion project, with a focus on restoring the building’s original features. Now, 100 years later, the building stands ready to continue its legacy and contribute to a vibrant future on Main Street.
In addition to his work on the renovation, Ron serves as a Board Member for the Mooresville Downtown Commission, continuing his family’s long-standing commitment to giving back to the community.
For his dedication to preserving Mooresville’s history and his unwavering commitment to revitalizing downtown, Mooresville is proud to recognize Ron Mack as its 2024 North Carolina Main Street Champion.
