Since her first election in 2001, Mayor Vivian Jones has led the charge to make Downtown Wake Forest an inviting destination to live, work, and play.

A former downtown business owner and long-time downtown resident, Mayor Jones has been instrumental in bringing positive economic growth to downtown through a variety of initiatives, including the creation of a cultural and performing arts center, implementation of bus service with stops throughout downtown, construction of a new town hall, streetscape projects, expansion of the Senior Center, implementation of smart technology, and procurement of downtown grant funding, among other efforts. A passionate supporter of local small businesses, Mayor Jones’s incomparable vision and forward-thinking approach encourages the community to honor downtown’s past while embracing its future. This mentality, combined with her resolute determination and unsurpassed devotion to downtown and its stakeholders, make her a North Carolina Main Street Champion for Downtown Wake Forest.
