Warren Ormiston works for the Town of Rutherfordton's Public Works Department, but he goes above and beyond the scope of his work to make incredible contributions to Rutherfordton’s Main Street. His efforts far exceed the duties of his job description, and he donates countless hours of volunteer time to keep the downtown beautiful. You can often find him on a utility vehicle late into the evening watering flowers, planting grass, or picking up trash. Warren has such a heart for the community and knows that a key to driving the whole town forward is to make it look clean, beautiful, and inviting. He notices things that are often overlooked and is constantly working to improve the appearance of downtown, just because he thinks it is the right thing to do. Warren’s enthusiasm and love for downtown Rutherfordton is remarkable and he inspires others to follow his example. Rutherfordton is pleased to have him recognized as a North Carolina Main Street Champion.
